Penfield and Victor Win in States

In a thrilling day of championship girls lacrosse at SUNY Cortland, Penfield and Victor emerged victorious. Penfield claimed its first-ever NYS class A title with a decisive 9-3 victory over Suffern.

Penfield Claims NYS Class A Title With Win Over Suffern

With the win, Penfield earned its first-ever New York State championship. Avery Fordham had four goals and Karis Hand made eight saves to lead the Patriots. Penfield finishes the season with an 18-3 record.

Victor Wins 4th Straight NYS Championship

Maia Pronti had two goals and three assists, including the 150th assist of her career, to lead Victor to its fourth consecutive NYS class B title. Morgan Livingston had four goals and an assist. Victor concludes its season with a record of 18-4.

Victor and Penfield Win in Semifinals

Section V enjoyed a successful day in Cortland on Friday, as Penfield and Victor each won and advanced to the championship game in its respective class.

Penfield Defeats CNS, Advances to NYS Class A Final

Peyton Rothfuss (5g/2a) and Jenna Capozzi (4g/2a) led the attack for Penfield, and goaltender Karis Hand had 10 saves to help secure the victory. With the win, the Patriots advance to the NYS class A finals, where they will face Suffern (Section I) in the championship game on Saturday.

Victor Set to Return to NYS Class B Finals

Morgan Livingston, Allie Pisano, Julia Bruno, and Gianna Hedden each scored three goals, and Maia Pronti had four assists to lead Victor. The Blue Devils seek their fourth consecutive NYS class B championship when they take on Garden City (Section VIII) on Saturday.

Blue Devils and Patriots Punch Their Tickets to Semis; Cougars and Mustangs Fall

DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - Four games were played today, with Penfield (class A) and Victor (class B) both securing dominant wins to advance to the NYS semifinals.

Victor to NYS Semifinals for 4th Consecutive Year

Maia Pronti had one goal and seven assists to lead Victor. Morgan Livingston and McKenna Anderson had three goals apiece. With the win, the Blue Devils advance to the NYS semifinals Friday at SUNY Cortland, where they will take on Columbia (section II).

Penfield Defeats Orchard Park

Peyton Rothfuss (3g/3a) and Jenna Capozzi (2g/4a) led the attack for Penfield. Sophomore Avery Fordham scored her 50th career goal in the game. With the win, the Patriots move on to the semifinal round of the NYS championship for the first time since 2018.

Honeoye Falls-Lima Edged by JD

Shaye Angelo led Honeoye Falls-Lima with four goals and three assists, while Jenna Lawrence added three goals and one assist. Honeoye Falls-Lima finishes its season with a record of 15-6.

South Jefferson Gets Win Over Penn Yan

Lydia Tremont (7g) and Emma Kelley (6g/2a) led the scoring for South Jefferson, and Emma Vespa made five saves in the win. Penn Yan concludes its season with a record of 10-9.

Dominant Performances Define the Day

DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - Honeoye Falls-Lima advanced in class C with a decisive 20-6 victory over Lake Shore/Silver Creek. Shaye Angelo had five goals and Sarah McLaughlin made seven saves to lead the Cougars, who move on to face Jamesville-DeWitt in the regionals on Saturday. In class D action.

Penn Yan Overcomes Eden Central

Bailey Cooper had six goals, including the 300th of her career, and won a game-high 10 draw controls to lead Penn Yan. The Mustangs advance to face South Jefferson (Section III) in the regionals on Saturday.

Honeoye Falls-Lima Advances in Class C

Shaye Angelo and Harper Jacob led Honeoye Falls-Lima with a combined eight goals and 18 draw control wins. Mackinley Buckley and Sarah Smith added three goals apiece, and Sarah McLaughlin recorded seven saves. Honeoye Falls-Lima will play Jamesville-DeWitt (Section III) in the regionals on Saturday.

Victor Holds Off Pittsford in Class B Finals

Julia Bruno had three goals to lead Victor to its fourth consecutive class B title. Next up for the Blue Devils is a sectional matchup Saturday against Clarence (section VI). Pittsford finishes its season with a record of 14-5.

Penfield Defeats R-H in Class A Finals

Whitney Reynolds and Jenna Capozzi each had four goals and one assist, and Peyton Rothfuss won a game-high 12 draw controls to lead No. 1 Penfield to its first class A championship since 2018. Kate DeWald had four goals and two assists for No. 3 Rush-Henrietta. Penfield will take on Orchard Park (section VI) in the regionals on Saturday. Rush-Henrietta concludes its season with a record of 12-6.

Championship Battles in Class A and Class B

DAY IN REVIEW: WEDNESDAY - In a day of intense lacrosse action, No. 1 Victor edged No. 2 Pittsford 11-9 to claim its fourth consecutive Class B title.

Penn Yan Wins Class D

Bailey Cooper had five goals and an assist to lead No. 1 Penn Yan. Maihue Miranda-Wiltberger won 17 draw controls to help secure the win. For No. 2 Waterloo, Kinsley Bree led the scoring with two goals and one assist. Waterloo finishes its season at 10-7. The Mustangs advance to the sub-regionals Thursday at Williamsville South HS, where they will take on Eden (section VI).

Harper Jacob (3g), Shaye Angelo (2g), Mackinley Buckley (2g/1a), and Jenna Lawrence (2g) led the scoring for No. 3 Honeoye Falls-Lima. Teagan Hudak had five goals for No. 1 Pal-Mac. Up next for Honeoye Falls-Lima is a sub-regional matchup against Lake Shore (section VI) on Thursday at Williamsville South HS. Pal-Mac concludes its season with a record of 15-4.

DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - Section V crowned its class C and class D girls lacrosse champions on Tuesday.

Pal-Mac Secures Spot in Class C Finals

Teagan Hudak and Brinn Castrechini each scored seven goals to lead No. 1 Pal-Mac. It was the Red Raiders' twelfth win in a row. Brynn Henry had five goals and an assist for No. 4 Aquinas-WOIS, which finishes its season at 8-10. Pal-Mac moves on to play No. 3 Honeoye Falls-Lima in the class C final game on Tuesday.

Pittsford Holds Off Brighton in Class B

No. 2 Pittsford built an early lead but was forced to fight off a fourth-quarter Brighton rally to secure the win. The Panthers will play No. 1 Victor in the class B final game on Wednesday. Brighton, the sixth seed, finishes its season with a record of 9-10.

Honeoye Falls-Lima Advances

Shaye Angelo led No. 3 Honeoye Falls-Lima with six goals, three assists, and 14 draw controls. Velia DeMaria scored the lone goal for No. 2 Geneva. The Cougars advance to take on No. 1 Pal-Mac in the class C final on Tuesday. Geneva finishes its season with a record of 14-4.

Camryn Adrid (4g), Julia Bruno (3g/1a), Allie Pisano (2g/2a),and Maia Pronti (2g/2a) led the scoring for No. 1 Victor. The Blue Devils will take on No. 2 Pittsford in the class B finals on Wednesday. Shannon Seymour had three goals for No. 4 Irondequoit. The Eagles conclude their season with a record of 9-9.
