Wayne Takes Niagara-Wheatfield
Wayne hosted Niagara-Wheatfield (Section VI) in a non-league matchup on Saturday and came away with a 10-5 win. Isabella Veltre led the Eagles' offense with three goals and two assists. Lauren Twist also contributed three goals. Addie McGurk scored her first varsity goal in the game. Madelyn Hillman was the Eagles' anchor, recording eight draw controls and three ground balls. Ninth-grader Dalilah Rommevaux made seven saves for a 58% save rate.
With the win, the Eagles improve to 6-4. Their next game is set for Monday, when they host Mynderse-Romulus. [ Story and BOX SCORE]
