Aquinas-WOIS Over Newark-Midlakes
In their first-ever meeting, Aquinas-WOIS claimed a 17-5 win over Newark-Midlakes in a non-league game at Aquinas on Friday evening.
Eight players contributed goals for Aquinas-WOIS. Sophomore Brynn Henry led all scorers with six goals and an assist, and Savannah Hinchcliffe added four goals. Ninth-grader Alexandria Stacy marked her debut with one goal and three assists. Angelina Masci was solid in goal, saving four shots.
For Newark-Midlakes, Zoey Overslaugh recorded two goals and an assist, and Jamie Lawson added two goals. Thea Lewis (1g/1a) rounded out the scoring for the Screaming Eagles. Daniela Orozco-Aguilar made six saves.
Aquinas-WOIS (2-0) looks to continue its momentum at Frontier (section VI) on Saturday, while Newark-Midlakes prepares for its next game Monday against Gananda-Marion. [ BOX SCORE] - - More images in the photo gallery.
