Newark-Midlakes and Wayne Win Today
DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - There were only two games played today. Newark-Midlakes defeated Marcus Whitman and Wayne beat Brockport.
NEWARK-MIDLAKES-16 at MARCUS WHITMAN-5 - Eight players scored for Newark-Midlakes (4-7), led by Zoey Overslaugh (4g/1a) and Kelsea Socha (4g). Amelia Santy scored her first varsity goal for Newark-Midlakes and Stella Del Papa recorded her 50th career assist. Aliysiah Clark had four goals for Marcus Whitman (0-9). Newark-Midlakes plays host to Pal-Mac on Monday. The Wildcats look for their first win of the season Tuesday when they take on Mynderse-Romulus. [ BOX SCORE]
BROCKPORT-3 at WAYNE-12 - With the win, Wayne improves its record to 5-6. Isabella Veltre, Julia DiLeo, Emma Lockwood, Megan Montgomery, and Madelyn Hillman each scored two goals for the Eagles; for Veltre, her second goal of the game was the 50th of her varsity career. Mimi Ugalde had eight saves for Wayne. There were no statistics reported from Brockport (4-8) at post time. The Eagles travel to Waterloo on Monday to take on the Tigers.
