Wayne Secures Win Over Newark-Midlakes
Wayne overpowered Newark-Midlakes in Monday's Finger Lakes matchup, earning a 20-9 victory.
Isabella Veltre led Wayne (9-5) with seven goals and five assists. Lauren Twist (5g/3a), Julia DiLeo (4g), and Samantha Branner (3g/1a) all made significant offensive contributions for the Eagles. Anabelle Ruffell excelled in the draw circle, winning 13 draw controls.
Newark-Midlakes (2-11) received a strong performance from Zoey Overslaugh, who recorded her 100th career point on four goals and two assists. Ninth-graders Alivia DeJohn and Elizabeth Scibona each scored her first varsity goal in the game. Maggie Lynch had 12 saves.
