Genny Narrowly Defeats R-H
West Genesee (section III) claimed a 12-10 victory over the Royal Comets in a closely contested non-league game at Rush-Henrietta. Although the home team held a slim lead at halftime, West Genesee surged ahead with a strong second-half performance, outscoring the Royal Comets 7-3 in the final two quarters.
Danielle Garrett scored three goals for Rush-Henrietta. Junior Kate DeWald (3g/1a) secured her 200th career draw control. Riley Brown added two goals, and Isabella Artessa and Briea Schlindwein chipped in a goal apiece. Emma DeWald dished out three assists, and goalie Taylor Potwin recorded seven saves.
The series history between these schools remains a competitive one, with West Genesee now holding six wins to Rush-Henrietta's three since 2006.
