Six Games Vs. Out of Town Opponents
Today, there were six games that were all played against out of Section opponents. The closest contest was Chenango Forks' 10-9 win over Waterloo and Aquinas' 13-12 win over Mt. St. Mary. Additional scores were Spencerport over Corning 16-13, Canandaigua over Skaneateles 7-5, Penfield over Hamburg 18-0 and Pal-Mac over Lancaster 20-12.
Spencerport and Corning played a back and forth game with both teams taking the lead. At one point early on Corning held a 3-0 lead and later in the half, Spencerport had a four point lead at 11-7. The Rangers scored four of the fast five goals to lead 16-12 with 6:16 remaining in regulation. Erin Coykendall led in scoring with 2g-5a. Natalie Choate added 4g-2a and Camryn Sack added 3g-1a. Aquinas led 6-4 at the half and held off Mt. St. Mary in the second half to defeat the Thunder 13-12. Leading in scoring by Aquinas was Mickey Knapp with 8g. Regan Nugent led in draw controls with six and Erin Cody led in caused turnovers and ground balls with 3 each. Additional stats are HERE.
Waterloo pushed hard for a comeback and scored 7 goals in the second half, but still fell 10-9 to Chenango Forks. Riley Corey (3g) and Kari Jensen (3g) led in scoring. Allie Smith recorded 7 caused turnovers. Additional stats are HERE.
Pal-Mac scored 10 goals in each half in their 20-12 win over Lancaster. Jamie Walker had an impressive day finishing with 9g-2a. Emma Arnold added another 4g-5a to the total count. Andra Savage (5g-3a) led in draw controls with 7 and Arnold led in caused turnovers with 5. Additional stats are HERE.
