Lena Brunette Leads Brighton to Win

BRIGHTON-14 at GENEVA-2 - The Bruins took an early lead and cruised to their first victory of the season. The game marked the first meeting between the two teams since May of 2006—a game also won by Brighton.

Lena Brunette paced the Bruins’ attack with four goals. Eva Holbrough, Carley Shapiro, and Lily Zimmerman added two goals apiece. Eva Holbrough also recorded three assists. Carley Shapiro, Natalie Emler, and Claire Vorrasi each recorded the first goal of her varsity career.

For Geneva, ninth-graders Velia DeMaria and Makenna Harris were the only goal scorers. Makenna Harris also secured a game-high seven draw controls. Maddie Askin made 11 saves in 36 minutes of play.

With the win, Brighton’s record stands at 1-1. The Panthers fall to 1-2 on the season.
