Brighton Defeats Schroeder, On to Quarterfinals

No. 6 Brighton hosted No. 11 Schroeder in a class B first-round matchup, securing a 14-3 win. Brighton built an 11-2 halftime advantage en route to the victory. It was the Bruins' 13th consecutive win over the Warriors dating back to 2007.

Senior Ireland Mistretta led Brighton with five goals; she also won 12 draw controls. Alexandra Madison (3g/1a) scored her 50th career goal in the game. Tatum Cook contributed three goals. Ella Brunette (1g/1a), Riley Lawrence (1g), Adrienne Zappia (1g/1a), Eva Holbrough (1a), and Sara Solomon (1a) rounded out the scoring for Brighton. Lauren Russell made nine saves for a 75% save rate in 48 minutes of play. Schroeder did not submit a statistical report.

With the win, the Bruins improve to 8-9 and advance to the quarterfinals to face third-seeded Mercy. Schroeder finishes its season with a record of 4-12.    [ Story and BOX SCORE
