It a warm but beautiful night and a "final game" for the seniors, chosen from throughout Section Five to play in one last high school game. |

# 152 One of Three Advance to Finals Pittsford defeated West Islip (Section 11) 11-5 to secure their spot in the Class A State Finals. The Panthers will face Christian Brothers Academy (Section 3) tomorrow at 9:30 AM. If the Panther's succeed they will be the first Class A NYS Champion for Section Five. Garden City (Section 8) defeated Victor 15-11 to move on and face Yorktown (Section 1) for the Class B Championship. Mount Sinai (Section 11) defeated HFL 10-3 to move on to face Skaneateles (Section 3) for the Class C Championship. |

# 149 2016 Herb Fitch Senior All Star Game The Rochester Chapter of USLacrosse has announced the 2016 Herb Fitch Lacrosse All Star Game player selections. This year's contest, featuring some of the best of the graduating seniors will be held on Friday, June 17th at Victor High School. The girls' game will start at 5:00 PM before the boys' play at 7:00 PM. |
# 148 Monroe County End of Season Awards Monroe County End of Season Awards have 50 First and 50 Second Team All County Players. In addition there were 4 All Americans and 4 Academic All Americans. As well as Defensive Players of the Year, a Midfielder of the Year and an Offensive Player of the Year. |
# 141 Pittsford Moves to State Tournament Top seeded Pittsford will be the Class A representative to the NYS Tournament. The Panthers defeated Fairport 11-6. They scored the first goal and never trailed in their win over the Red Raiders. Jillie Quevedo set the pace of the entire game when she scored on fast-break goal only 0:15 into the contest. |
# 140 Class A All Tournament Team At the conclusion of the Class A Tournament. Section Five announced the first ever All Tournament Team. The Team consists of the top 13 players in the Class A Tournament this year. There are 12 regular spots and an MVP spot. |
# 139 Finals Match-ups The final two days of Section Five lacrosse are upon us with the Sectional Titles being decided over the next two days. The Class A Finals will be #1 seeded Pittsford vs. #2 seeded Fairport. The Class B Finals will be #1 seeded Spencerport vs. #2 seeded Victor. The Class C Finals will be #1 seeded Pal-Mac vs. #2 seeded HFL. Class A Finals will be played on May 31st at St. John Fisher College in a Boys/Girls double header. Class B and Class C Finals will be played on June 1st at Pittsford Sutherland. |

The closest game tonight was Corning over Penn Yan 12-11 in overtime and Waterloo over Geneva 8-7 in overtime. Other close games included, Brockport over Hilton 8-7, Irondequoit over Canandaigua 8-7 and Brighton over HFL 6-5. Additional games were Churchville-Chili over Victor 11-7, Pittsford over Thomas 18-8, Fairport over Penfield 12-8, Arc/Oly over Gates Chili 15-6, Gananda over East Rochester 9-5, Wayne over Newark 12-7, Spencerport over Eastridge 19-2 and RH over Mercy 16-4. |

CNS falls to 6-1 with their first loss of the season coming at the hands of the Panthers. The game was highly contested in the first half with both teams leading. The Panthers scored the first four goals to the second half to secure the win. Senior Maddie Miller scored the first two goals of the second half to set the pace for the remainder of the game. |

# 45 Miller's Six Goals Lifts Pittsford Maddie Miller was apart of seven out of nine goals in the 9-4 Pittsford win over Victor. The Panther's started off strong with a Miller scoring four unanswered goals to start the game. Victor added a single goal before the completion of the first half. |
# 44 Canandaigua and Greece Ath/Ody Win Close Games With only four games being played tonight, Canandaigua came back in the second half to defeat Penfield 7-5. Greece Athena/Odyssey held off a late advance by Gates-Chili to win 8-7 in double overtime. Pittsford defeated Victor 9-4 and Mynderse defeated East Rochester 11-6. Mercy was in Akron, OH to face Archbishop Hoban and defeated them 10-7. |

The 2016 Sectional Tournament concluded with Pittsford (Class A), Victor (Class B) and HFL (Class C) as Champions. This was the third straight win for the Panthers, the third straight win for the Blue Devils and the fifth straight win for the Cougars.
