In the first game of the Girls-Boys Double Header of the "Cradle for a Cure" program, the girl's of Pal-Mac defeated Wayne 20-2. This marked the sixth annual "Cradle for a Cure" matchup to support a local family and Camp Good Days and Special Times. The local fundraising/awareness event is currently in its sixth year. The Lancers trailed for most of the first half before tying the game with 4:15 left in the first half. They continued their streak in the second half with the only goal. In total, Eastridge held the Eagles scoreless for just short of 40 minutes. |
# 291 Wayne Wins First Sectional Game in Program History Wayne scored four of the last five goals to pull away and defeat Newark 9-4. This was the first Sectional win in program history for the Eagles. The game was close for most of the first half, before the Eagles began to pull away. As the second half continued, Newark could not close the gap and Wayne slowly expanded their lead. |
# 208 Wayne Holds Lead over Gates Chili Mary Panepento was the driving force for Wayne behind their 14-11 win over Gates Chili. She finished with 6g-1a including the final go ahead goal late in the second half. The Screaming Eagles took an early led to 3-1 before Gates Chili fought back to a 4-4 tie in the first half. Panepento scored again off a free position goal to take a 5-4 lead before the Spartans scored back to back to take their first and only lead of the game. Wayne scored the next three to go back and top. |
