In addition, there were 2 All Americans and 2 Academic All Americans. As well as Defense Player of the Year, a Midfield Player of the Year and an Attack Player of the Year. |
# 296 2017 Class D All Tournament Team At the conclusion of the Class D Tournament, the All Tournament Team was announced. The Team consists of the top 13 players in the Class D Tournament this year. There are 12 regular spots and an MVP spot. |
# 272 Glagolev Leads Thomas to Victory Thomas scored the first eight goals in their 13-10 win over Pal-Mac. The Titans Emily Glagolev finished with 4g-1a and a team leading 10 draw controls. She was one of the major factors in the win, making her presence known on offense and defense. Her dominance at the draws caused the Red Raiders to double her at the circle. That gave Gabriella Vasile free reign on the far side to win four draws herself. The possession control helped the Titans control the pace of the game. |

The Class C Finals will be #1 seeded Pal-Mac vs. #2 seeded HFL. Class A Finals will be played on May 31st at St. John Fisher College in a Boys/Girls double header. There were ten matches tonight with only 2 games under a 5-goal differential. The closest match of the night was Irondequoit defeated R-H 11-8. Livonia over Gates Chili 12-8 was also under a 5-goal differential. Rounding out the scoring were Waterloo over Gananda 11-3, Pal-Mac over Midlakes 17-2, Victor over HFL 13-8, Penfield over Brockport 15-4, Penn Yan over Mynderse 12-7, Arc/Oly over Eastridge 14-9, Brighton over Fairport 14-6 and Canandaigua over Hilton 15-3.

The 2016 Sectional Tournament concluded with Pittsford (Class A), Victor (Class B) and HFL (Class C) as Champions. This was the third straight win for the Panthers, the third straight win for the Blue Devils and the fifth straight win for the Cougars.
There were five more games played tonight. In the closest contest, Mynderse scored five of the last six to defeat Wayne 8-6. In other games, Gananda defeated Midlakes 12-6, Pal-Mac defeated Waterloo 16-6 and Geneva defeated Marcus Whitman 18-10. The Penn Yan defeated Newark 14-4.
The 2015 All Greater Rochester list was published at the end of the season and Webster Thomas senior Emily Resnick was named the 2015 Player of the Year by the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle. All told, sixteen players were noted on the list. Leading the charge were players from Churchville Chili, Victor, Pittsford and Irondequoit with two players each.
