Irondequoit Wins in Overtime Thriller
May 5, 2025 - Irondequoit secured a hard-fought 10-9 victory over Brighton in an overtime battle on Monday night. Lila Velepec clinched the win for Irondequoit, scoring with 27 seconds remaining in the first overtime off an assist from Ellie Bottiglier. The Eagles have now won the last three matches against the Bruins, although they still trail the series history by a wide margin.
Lucy Whipple led Irondequoit with four goals, while Grace Bottiglier added three goals and one assist. Emma Francis made nine saves to help secure the win.
For Brighton, Ella Brunette, Riley Lawrence, and Alexandra Madison had two goals apiece. Ireland Mistretta recorded 13 draw controls, and goalie Lauren Russell stopped five shots.
