Newark-Midlakes Tops Gananda-Marion
April 30, 2025 - Newark-Midlakes secured its second win of the season, defeating Gananda-Marion 13-9 in a Finger Lakes game on Wednesday evening. Zoey Overslaugh (5g/1a) and Jamie Lawson (3g/3a) led the scoring for the Screaming Eagles. Sophey Carswell added two goals and an assist. Kendall DeBrock (2g), Brooke Faust (1g), and Thea Lewis (2a) rounded the scoring for Newark-Midlakes.
The Blue Panthers, still seeking their first win, were led by Lexi Gallina, who had five goals and two assists. Malina Alejandro and Lily Aylett added two goals apiece for Gananda-Marion (0-8).
With its victory, Newark-Midlakes improves to 2-6 on the season and remains undefeated in six games all-time against Gananda-Marion. Both teams face Eastridge/BK next on their schedules, Newark-Midlakes on Friday and Gananda-Marion next Monday. [ Story and BOX SCORE]
