Penfield Secures Over HF-L
April 4, 2025 - Penfield defeated Honeoye Falls-Lima (HF-L) on Friday by a score of 15-2. The Patriots were led by standout attacker Peyton Rothfuss, who tallied three goals and three assists. Whitney Reynolds contributed four goals, while midfielder Avery Fordham added three. Ninth-grader Lexi Corcoran scored her first varsity goal. In total, seven Penfield players found the back of the net. Sophomore goalkeeper Karis Hand anchored the defense with seven saves and a 78% save rate.
The Cougars` lone goals were scored by Harper Jacob and Shaye Angelo. In goal, Sarah McLaughlin faced relentless Penfield pressure, recording three saves.
The victory extends Penfield`s winning streak over HF-L to six games, dating back to 2017. Penfield now holds a 13-7 edge in the series since 2005. On Tuesday, Penfield (2-1) hosts Fairport while HF-L (2-1) faces Churchville-Chili.
