CA and Spencerport Win

- DAY IN REVIEW: WEDNESDAY - There were only two games played today. Others were postponed.

CANANDAIGUA-10 at MERCY-6 - Neither the driving rain, nor the Monarchs at Our Lady of Mercy could stop the visiting Canandaigua Grey Wolves from returning home victorious today.  Canandaigua beat Mercy by a score of 10-6 in a hotly contested game.  Mercy led for most of the 1st half in aback and forth contest and took a 4-3 lead into halftime, however the Grey Wolves rode a strong third quarter to take the lead and never gave it back.  Leading scorers for the Braves included Hanna Davis (2g-2a), Lola Schorr (3g) and Nola Weaver (2g-1a), while Junior Defender Emily Hubler made an impression causing 2 turnovers and scooping up 4 GB’s.  For Mercy, Mia Lusardi (2g) and Krista Harnischfeger (2g) scored 2 goals a piece, while Mia Quagrello (4a) was the team’s main distributor.  Canandaigua will travel to Pittsford on 4/6, while Mercy will next host Corning on 4/10.    [ BOX SCORE

SPENCERPORT-12 at FREEDOM (SOUTH RIDING)-4 - Spencerport travelled out of section to defeat the Freedom Eagles (Virginia) by a score off 12-4.  Senior Molly Guzik led all scorers with 5 goals and also hauled in 11 draw controls, while Sophomore Brooke Endres (3g-1a) also notched a 4-point performance.  Senior Attacker Sophia Marron (1g) also earned extra possessions for the Rangers by causing 3 turnovers a scoping up 1 Ground Ball.  Senior Midfielder Alyssa Nichols (1g-2a) also made lays in all phases collecting 3 DC’s, 2 GB’s and causing a turnover. Spencerport plays Riverside (VA) on Thursday.     [ BOX SCORE

The Penn Yan game with Topsail was postponed until Friday. They play River Bluff on Thursday. The Wayne at Lafayette as been moved to April 12th.
