Three Games Played as Weather Warms Up
April 6, 2016 - After two days of all games being cancelled, three games were finally played in Section Five. Although five others were cancelled, Canandaigua defeated Waterloo (12-3), Fairport defeated Aquinas (16-6) and Penfield defeated Irondequoit (9-8).
Fairport had 10 different players make their offensive scorebook with Maddie Howe (5g) and Brittney Pollack (4g-2a) leading the team. Isabel Hofford (8 saves) and Diksha Thakkar (4 saves) both finished at 67% between the pipes. For additional details click here.
Canandaigua scored six goals in the second half to extend their lead to 12-3. The Braves were led in scoring by Natalie Gwynn (5g). Three different players scored for the Indians with Sam Barnhart, Alberta Eshenour and Kiera O`Connor each scoring one goal. For additional details click here.
In the closest game of the night, Penfield defeated Irondequoit 9-8. The Eagles led at the half 5-4 before the Patriots outscored them 5-3 in the second half to secure the win. Alanna Fallone (3g) and Megan Motkowski (3g-1a) led in scoring. For additional details click here,
