Rush-Henrietta Advances to Class A Final
May 28, 2025 - No. 3 Rush-Henrietta ended No. 2 Fairport's two-year reign as class A champion, defeating the Red Raiders 8-6 in a semifinal game on Wednesday. The Royal Comets battled back from a 5-2 deficit late in the second quarter to earn the win.
Kate DeWald led Rush-Henrietta with two goals and an assist, along with 10 draw controls. Briea Schlindwein and Emma DeWald had two goals apiece, and Isabella Artessa and Riley Brown each recorded a goal and an assist. Taylor Potwin made five saves to help seal the win.
For Fairport, Ellie Miller had three goals, while Lily Kondas contributed one goal and three assists. Camryn DuBose added two goals. Ella Peers recorded an assist, the 100th of her varsity career. Marisa Test had five saves.
The Royal Comets will take on No. 1 Penfield in the class A finals next Wednesday. Fairport finishes the season at 11-6. [ Story and BOX SCORE]
